Your Math Binder
*50 points plus warmups, notes, journals
Your 1”- 2” Math Binder should have 5 dividers which will be arranged in the following labeled sections:

FRONT of BINDER: Keepers
In this section of your notebook you should keep items such as:
-Syllabus
-Notebook Rubric Grade Sheets
-Formula Chart
-Study Guides/Reviews
-Your Math Binder Sheet
-Login Information for MATHXL and Pearsonsccess.net
Section 1: Warm Ups (1 point per problem completed)
In this section you will work-out “warm-up” problems daily. Always make sure you make up any Warm Ups that are missed from any absence. Warm Ups should always include a date, all work, answer letter, and answer with units. This section is graded every notebook check and may be cleaned out after each grading.
Section 2: Notes (5 points per completed sections of notes)
This is your safe place to try out ideas, summarize teacher guided notes and store your interactive notebook. Class notes and examples will be recorded daily in the interactive notebook. This is where you will keep vocabulary definitions for the math terminology that is important and essential to the concepts covered in the curriculum. Keep this section all year.
Section 3: Homework
MATHXL ONLINE assignments do require you to SHOW WORK, always have a pencil, calculator and paper out while working on MATHXL assignments. You should also have 8.5” x 11” loose-leaf paper in this section for working homework problems. All assignment papers need to include your name, period, date, and title. Remember to always show all your work! Keep this section all year.
Section 4: Assessment/Graded Work
You will place graded and returned quizzes, exams, classwork, and homework in this section. This sections will be beneficial in preparing for Chapter Test and Semester Exams. You should always look over assessments and review missed problems. Ask for help to clarify mistakes. Correcting mistakes will help prevent future mistakes.
Section 5: Journal (10 points each)
This is where you will keep your Math Journals. This topics will be posted on the board after Tests/Quizzes. You should write a minimum of 3 complete sentences.
